Empowering Change Through Leadership, Mentorship, and Digital Innovation

Hello, I am Akullu Isabella Nyeringol, a 26-year-old young Ugandan woman who is emerging as a digitally fluent Human Resources Management-HRM Professional. I am passionate about making a meaningful impact in the world, beginning with my home country, Uganda.

My focus is on transforming mindsets through mentorship and empowering people of all ages to effectively manage the five pillars of life: intellectual, spiritual, physical wellness, financial, and relational capital. I am dedicated to inspiring positive change in individuals for their personal growth and to contribute to a better world.

I believe that with God’s guidance, my dreams are within reach through patience and walking in my purpose here on earth. I also believe that we are all here for a reason, making it essential to discover that purpose in order to live and walk in it fully.

Growing up, I was always highly ambitious and determined to succeed in life. This drive kept me focused on my studies and eventually led me to Makerere University Business School (MUBS). However, I faced a setback when I was unable to raise the tuition fees, which forced me to take a year off. God blessed me with spiritual parents who supported and encouraged me, even helping to clear all my university tuition fees. Thanks to their support, I in January 2025 I graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from Makerere University Business School.

I love my HRM course because it focuses on the entire employee lifecycle—entry, stay, and exit within an organization. This field allows me to showcase my integrity, interpersonal skills, creativity, leadership, strong analytical abilities, and attention to detail, among other qualities, especially in leadership roles. During my time at university, I completed 35 course units. Some of my most outstanding courses included; Principles of Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Salary and Employee Compensation, Field Attachment, Leadership and Interpersonal Skills, Principles of Marketing, Human Behaviour at Work, Human Resource Planning (both practical and theoretical), Business Law, Entrepreneurship Development, and Business Communication Skills. While at the university, I contested and was proud to be named First Runner-Up in Miss Makerere University Business School 2022/2023. This experience enabled me to work closely with the then Vice President of MUBS, Lenia Charity, and the reigning Queen. Together, we focused on creating positive impacts at the university and in the community through the organization "Doing It for Her/Him."

My biggest lesson from university I have to share with fresh students joining university education is to stay focused on your studies and avoid unnecessary distractions. I also believe it's important to actively participate in mentorship programs offered by the university, as campus life can be challenging and students are often on their own. I understand that many parents may not always have the time to mentor and guide their children, so students should seek guidance and support wherever they can. Additionally, I believe that loving God provides strength and direction throughout this journey.

I joined Radiant Mind Africa (RMA) through my spiritual mother. I saw a post on WhatsApp, applied, and was fortunate to earn a position as a Digital Media Graduate Assistant at RMA. The rest is history. RMA’s community of leaders has profoundly impacted me in many ways. I now have the ability to practically lead digitally through my social media handles. Before joining RMA, I was not effectively utilizing my social media platforms, especially LinkedIn, which is very important for our careers. In a world of remote work, having visibility on social media increases opportunities for career growth and attracting clients. We have an amazing team of coaches—Coach Blenda, Denis, Leen, and Hilder—who mentor us one-on-one on how to become the best versions of ourselves and how to support RMA. Since RMA focuses on personal growth, career development, and leadership, the meetings and assessments I participate in are shaping me into a future impactful leader in the community. These experiences push me out of my comfort zone and help me think critically beyond conventional ideas. I always view every challenge as an opportunity to develop new ideas and grow as an aspiring leader both at RMA and in the wider world.

My goals and dreams are aligned with becoming a influential figure both globally and locally, making a positive impact on people of all generations and inspiring others. I aspire to hold a significant position in the government, where I can use my voice to create meaningful change in my country. I am passionate about influencing my community through mentorship across all generations. This includes skill training for vulnerable men, single mothers, and women—empowering them to take care of themselves and their families. I also aim to support elders aged 80 years and above by providing for their basic needs, recognizing that many are often too weak to work. Furthermore, I want to be a powerful influencer worldwide, impacting lives digitally through mentorship, especially for those I may not be able to reach in person. Social media provides a great platform for this. My vision is to see a generation that is focused, purposeful, and living happily according to their true potential.
